Monitor

See usage across every site, in one place.

Track energy consumption, spot patterns and get alerted when something changes - across every site in your portfolio, every day. Built for businesses that need more than a monthly bill.

Data note: Data is typically updated with the previous day's interval data each morning. Real-time monitoring is available for sites with Wattwatchers hardware installed

01
You're making decisions based on last month's bill. By the time you know something went wrong, you've already paid for it.
02
When you have multiple sites, finding the outlier means digging through spreadsheets and chasing site managers - and you're still not confident in the data.
03
Equipment faults, demand spikes and billing errors go unnoticed for months. Not because nobody cares - because nobody had visibility.
Usage & Demand

Understand what's driving your energy cost.

Most energy costs aren't caused by one big thing. They're caused by dozens of small things - a site running overnight load it shouldn't, demand peaks triggering extra charges, usage that crept up over six months and nobody noticed. IQ LAB pulls your interval data each morning so you can see exactly what happened at each site yesterday, not when the invoice arrives.

Review half-hourly consumption patterns, identify the hours and days pushing your costs up, and compare periods side by side to see whether things are improving or drifting.

  • Interval data updated daily from your meter
  • 5-minute load profiles across every site
  • Peak demand tracking and time-of-use breakdown
  • Period-on-period comparison
  • Real-time data available for Wattwatchers-equipped sites

Portfolio Dashboards

Portfolio clarity, without the spreadsheets.

When you're responsible for energy across multiple sites, the problem isn't a lack of data - it's having no single place where the right data is visible at a glance. IQ LAB gives you a portfolio view that shows all your sites together, so sites tracking normally sit quietly and sites with issues surface immediately.

Group by region, category or however your business is structured. Drill into any site for a detailed breakdown. Filter, compare and export when you need to report upward or to a client.

  • Single view across all sites and meters
  • Grouping and filtering by site, region or category
  • Side-by-side site comparison and outlier identification
  • Export-ready reporting

Solar & Battery

Track generation alongside consumption.

If you have solar or battery on site, your energy picture is incomplete without it. Knowing how much you consumed yesterday tells you half the story. Knowing how much you generated, how much you used from the grid and how much you exported tells you the whole picture - and informs how you should be thinking about your next energy contract.

IQ LAB connects directly to your inverter via secure API - Fronius, Sungrow, SolarEdge and more - so generation data sits alongside your consumption in the same view.

  • Live generation vs consumption tracking
  • Battery charge, discharge and storage performance
  • Import and export visibility
  • Self-consumption ratio
  • Performance vs expected output
  • Direct API - Fronius, Sungrow, SolarEdge and more

If you have solar on site, your procurement strategy should account for it.

Submetering

See where the energy is actually going.

The main meter tells you how much energy a site is using. Submetering tells you where it's going. That distinction matters when you're trying to reduce costs, allocate charges to tenants, or work out whether it's the HVAC, the production line or the lighting driving your peak.

IQ LAB connects to Wattwatchers devices and compatible submeter feeds for circuit-level visibility across individual equipment groups, floors, tenants or cost centres. For embedded network operators and commercial building managers, this is the difference between a portfolio view and a genuinely useful one.

  • Circuit-level consumption visibility
  • Tenant and zone-level monitoring
  • Equipment load identification
  • Cost centre allocation
  • Compatible with Wattwatchers and other devices

1,554 of 2,841 kWh goes to two HVAC circuits. The main meter would never show this, it is the first place to look for reduction or to allocate cost.
Alerts & Anomaly Detection

Know early, not later.

The most expensive energy problems are the ones nobody noticed. HVAC running through a public holiday weekend. A compressor that developed a fault and started drawing three times its normal load. A meter that stopped reporting and quietly generated estimated bills for four months.

IQ LAB lets you set threshold alerts for usage, demand and cost - and goes further with anomaly detection that learns what normal looks like for each site and flags when something deviates from it.

Example:
Your site's typical overnight consumption is 40kWh. On Wednesday night, IQ LAB records 180kWh and raises a flag. You call the site. A refrigeration unit has been left running in a closed store. You catch it the next morning — not six weeks later on an invoice.
  • Usage and demand threshold alerts per site or portfolio
  • Anomaly detection against each site's baseline
  • Meter health monitoring - flags data gaps and dropouts
  • Alert history log
  • Notification via email and in-platform

Budgets & Spend Tracking

Track spend against expectations - before month end, not after.

Energy budgets are set at the start of the year and reviewed when the bill arrives. By which point it's too late to do anything about it. IQ LAB lets you set budgets per site or across the portfolio and tracks variance day by day as the month progresses.

By the middle of the month you know whether you're tracking to budget or heading for an overrun. That gives you time to act - investigate a site running hot, adjust operations, or simply have the right numbers ready before someone asks.

  • Budget vs actual by site and portfolio
  • Month-to-date view with forecast to end of period
  • Variance alerts when spend drifts from budget
  • Historical performance across periods

How data gets in

Your data, connected the right way.

IQ LAB gets data into the platform through several routes - and thecombination you use depends on your sites, meters and retailer. Most customers start with one and add more over time.

Via CDR
For CDR-enabled retailers, IQ LAB connects directly with your consent and pulls billing and usage data automatically. A formally regulated, secure connection — no manual exports required.
Via meter data agents
IQ LAB integrates with Australia's leading meter data agents for NEM12 and interval data - usage and demand profiles updated daily. Covers the vast majority of commercial and industrial meters.
Via hardware
Solar inverters, Wattwatchers submeters and other connected devices feed data directly via secure API. Real-time where hardware supports it, daily interval data where it doesn't.
Via bill upload
If a site isn't yet connected to a data feed, upload bills manually. IQ LAB extracts the key details and adds them to your portfolio view. A good starting point while connections are being set up.
